My book reviews used to be a fun way to acknowledge an accomplishment. They don't feel that way anymore.  Ahh, but enough about me.  Danielle Steel wrote Palomino back in 1981.  It was made into a movie in 1991. The story wasn't terrible, but the details were quite a stretch. It's not like I've ever lived on a ranch, but the ranch in the book's descriptions is just too far-fetched for me. I guess the most glaring incongruity is that Sam arrives in December and proceeds to spend 12 hours in the saddle in the rain. In December. Winter, you know, that time when there just aren't 12 hours of daylight. And you can't exactly fix fence from on a horse. Anyway...I was not nearly as impressed with this book as I was with The Ring.
