I've had some time to read lately, and yesterday I finished Revolution in World Missions (1986) by K. P. Yohannan. I got it free from CCD when someone from Gospel for Asia came to speak. Mr. Yohannan is from India, and the book sells his idea that native missionaries are the right choice to reach people in today's world. At the same time, he doens't deny that some people are called to go to other people groups to share the Gospel. I thought it was an encouraging book. Sometimes I find myself in my cushy little bubble, and I think that maybe I should be going somewhere or doing something. Maybe that's true, but I don't think I was cut out for that, and I'm fairly certain that feeling isn't God talking to me. No, just from talking to people from other places on instant messenger, I know that there is a deep-seated distrust especially for Americans but also for all Westerners in general. Not everyone is meant to "do the missionary thing." $$$ It's always about the $$$, isn't it? Kinda uncomfortable. Something to think about, though...Now that I'm making $$.
