"If You Want to Walk on Water, You've Got to Get out of the Boat" was written by John Ortberg in 2001. We're currently doing a Wednesday night book study on this one at church. We're just in chapter 1, but I went ahead and read it. Basically it takes Peter's experience of walking on the water and looks at the whole situation and how it applies to us regarding our faith in Jesus and our "boats" - the things that we feel are keeping us safe. Toward the end of the book, the author quotes Max DePree saying, "The first task of a leader is to define reality." Then he adds that worship is fundamentally about the definition of reality. Why is reality so difficult to grasp?
