saddling LuckyYesterday morning mom and I helped grandpa bring up some calves that needed ear tags. Two of them worked out just fine, but one escaped, and it's just about impossible to get a second shot at getting them in the lot when that happens 'cause they start to get jumpy and will go right through the barbwire fence. So I actually decided that I'd rope the sucker if I could get close enough with Ranger. Now, I've played at roping lots before, but I've never roped a live critter off of any horse. I only tried one time, and that definitely wasn't off of Ranger. But for some reason, it just seemed like it would work out alright. Unfortunately, that's the end of the story 'cause I only got close enough once before it got too hot to be stressin' the cattle, and the rope kinda got stuck on the saddle, and that calf was outta range again in an instant. But the point of the story is that I actually believed that I could do it. I'm not sure where that came from. Makes me get this tiny glimmer of an idea...Saint Jo rodeo next year? Breakaway roping? I've always wanted to try it...

Go for it, then. You can do it. Why not? Some girls have the dream but far to go...no horse, no tack, no riding experience, no roping experience, no transportation, no money and nowhere to start...You are grown with a good job and all the rest needed including roper friends so there ya go. And best of all you already have THE most awesomest trailer for it!
