The Best Man in TexasI only have three more of these romance-type books left to read. For now. "The Best Man in Texas" by Kelsey Roberts (2001) was alright. There was one point where the conversation got lost, and the wrong person said the wrong thing. That made me pause for a few seconds and say "huh?" But I thought it was a fun story. In a way it was annoying because I really don't care much for lying and deception, but I can certainly understand why some people feel that they have no other choice, fictional and here in the real world. But understanding does not make me smile about it. So I would not call this a fun book to read. Entertaining, yes, and it's always nice to have one that's set in Texas.

I probably shouldn't have done so much reading yesterday since it was our last pretty day weather-wise for awhile. I did get out with the parents a little bit - we went out to the mostly-empty Muenster Lake on the Northwest side. It was quite over-grown with water weeds that are now dry, and tromping through them was kinda like pushing through knee-high snow. Knee-high snow that also smacks you in the face occasionally. It wasn't pleasant, but it was nice to get outside and move for a change.

Heh! That's EXACTLY how it was! I didn't do as well when I tried to describe our outing to my co-workers...I said they were red weeds that were head-high and *arms spread out* this wide...
